The Warranty
Built to

Returns are simple, and the build is covered for the long haul. Try your Frigid Rigid for 30 days — if it doesn't outperform the plastic cooler it's replacing, we buy it back. And every Frigid Rigid carries a limited lifetime warranty against manufacturing defects. The full terms are below.

The build is the warranty.
The reason we can stand behind one of these for the long haul isn't paperwork — it's the construction. Every chest is hand-built fiberglass, built one at a time in the USA, the same way since the first chest. Here's what that build does that plastic can't.

Won't warp like plastic
Roto-molded plastic warps over time and breaks its seal. A hand-built fiberglass shell holds its shape and its seal for years.

Marine-grade gel coat
Interior and exterior are finished in smooth, weather-resistant marine-grade gel coat — it won't stain, won't stink, and wipes clean.

316 marine-grade stainless hardware
The same grade of stainless used on boats. Built to take saltwater and sun without corroding.

2" rigid foam + "3-D" rubber gasket
2" rigid polyurethane foam insulation and a long-life rubber "3-D" gasket seal — engineered to keep performing year after year.

A limited lifetime warranty against manufacturing defects for the original purchaser — standing behind the fiberglass, gel coat, and hardware over time. Full terms below.
The 30-Day Guarantee is our buy-it-back promise on a new purchase. The Warranty is the long-term promise on the build itself. The full terms for both are below.
The Frigid Rigid "Fantastic Compared To Plastic" 30-Day Performance Guarantee
Use your Frigid Rigid Ice Chest for 30 days and if you don't agree that it performs better and provides a better user experience, we will buy it back.
That's the promise. Here's how it works.
What's Covered
- Standard, in-stock Fiberglass Ice Chest models purchased directly from frigidrigid.com
- Any reason — you don't have to prove the product failed, you just have to tell us it didn't outperform your previous cooler
What's Not Covered
- Custom-fit (made-to-spec) products. Because these are built to your specification — your dimensions, your gel-coat color match — they're not eligible for the 30-Day Performance Guarantee. They are still covered by our limited warranty against manufacturing defects (below).
- Custom-color products with non-standard gel-coat colors. Same reasoning.
- Products purchased through OEM, dealer, or third-party channels — those returns go through the original seller.
- Accessories, Slides, Cushions, and Gas Shock products purchased separately — these are typically not the items the Guarantee was designed for. Contact us if you have a concern and we'll work it out.
How to Use the Guarantee
- Within 30 days of delivery, email sales@frigidrigid.com with the subject line "30-Day Guarantee Return" and your order number.
- Tell us briefly why you're returning it. We'd appreciate honest feedback — it helps us improve.
- We'll send you return shipping instructions. Return shipping is paid by the customer.
- Once we receive the product back and confirm it's in usable condition (normal wear is fine — it's a cooler, we expect you used it), we'll issue a full refund to your original payment method.
- Refunds typically post within 5-10 business days of our receiving the return.
The refund includes the original product price and the original shipping you paid. It does not include any expedited shipping upgrade.
Limited Lifetime Warranty Against Manufacturing Defects
In addition to the 30-Day Performance Guarantee, every Frigid Rigid is covered by a limited lifetime warranty against manufacturing defects for the original purchaser.
What's Covered
- Gel-coat finish defects — bubbling, delamination, or cracking traceable to manufacturing rather than to use or impact
- Fiberglass structural integrity — cracks, splits, or layer separation in normal use
- Hardware functional defects — hinges and mounting hardware that fail in normal use due to a defect in materials or workmanship
What's Not Covered
- Latch — not covered by the limited warranty. Replaceable part; we sell replacements.
- Gas shock — not covered by the limited warranty. Replaceable part; we sell replacements.
- Drain plugs — not covered by the limited warranty. Replaceable parts; we sell replacements.
- Normal wear and use — gel-coat scratches, scuffs, fading from sun exposure, and surface marks that come from years of doing what an ice chest is supposed to do
- Damage from misuse — drops from height, using the cooler as a step or seat beyond its rated load, exposure to temperatures or chemicals well outside normal use
- Damage from modifications — drilling holes, adding aftermarket parts, painting over the gel coat, refinishing, or any alteration that changes the product from how we built it
- Cosmetic damage from impact — if you drop something heavy on the lid and it cracks, that's not a manufacturing defect
- Wear and tear on consumable parts — rope handles, foam handle covers, and drain plug gaskets are designed to be replaceable; if they wear out from normal use, we sell replacements
- Damage during transit — covered by our shipping damage process (within 7 days of delivery — see the Shipping Policy)
How to File a Warranty Claim
Email sales@frigidrigid.com with:
- Your order number (or approximate date and city of purchase if you don't have the number)
- A description of what's wrong
- Photos — overall product, close-up of the defect, and a wider shot showing context
- Whether the product has been used in normal conditions or in something unusual
We'll respond within one business day. Most claims are resolved without needing to ship the product back to us; some require return for inspection. We'll cover return shipping if we ask for the product back.
Repair vs Replacement
Whether a warranty claim results in repair, replacement, or refund is at Frigid Rigid's discretion, based on:
- The age of the product
- The nature and severity of the defect
- Whether the product is still in current production
- Whether repair is the right outcome for the customer (sometimes a clean swap is faster and better)
We've been doing this since 1980. Most warranty conversations end with the customer happier than they were when they emailed us.
